Installing a windshield can be a very good idea. Not only does it make for a more comfortable ride by blocking wind in your face, It also offers obstacle blocking. No one wants to ride down the street tasting flies or have one spat against your cheek. They also block pebbles, rocks and other debris thrown up from vehicles in front of you. In some cases adding a windscreen can help with aerodynamics which can improve gas mileage.
